Awards categories are assessed by a panel of independent judges led by Professor Carol Alexander of the University of Sussex. The judging panel comprises market professionals, academics and independent experts.
For each category there will be a maximum of 10 shortlisted companies selected from the total number of nominations in each category. The judges then rank these in first place, second place, third place, fourth place etc. to a maximum of ten. Each category is judged using a points scoring system to measure the overall quality of research. This is applied to the following criteria:
- Insight and scope of research
- Accuracy of earnings estimates, stockpicking and/or buy and sell recommendations*
- Originality of ideas
- Clarity of writing, presentation and graphics
*If your company does not publish explicit forecasts or recommendations as part of its research offering, it will not be penalised for this in the judging process. Instead, greater weight will be placed on the remaining criteria.
